Derrick Rose isn’t your traditional NBA superstar. He’s different. He’s humble. He cares more about the team than about his own stats. You can tell that LeBron, Melo, Dwight Howard and to a lesser extent Dwyane Wade relish the spotlight, they live for it. Their reputation was built on their braggadocio as much as it was built on their skill - and with the exception of Wade, it certainly wasn’t built on playing at a super star level in NBA Finals.

True, Rose hasn’t yet made a Finals appearance, but he lets his skills and his play on the court do the talking rather than a larger than life ego - I’m looking at you LeBron. I used to like LeBron, I felt like he was misunderstood, but last night’s game (albeit an exhibition) showed me that he’s still a selfish player; rather than throwing an easy alley oop to hometowner Dwight Howard, LeBron threw it to himself off the backboard.

After seeing how differently Rose acted than the others in the starting lineup, I realized that it’s Rose that’s misunderstood. I’m hoping Rose gets a championship before LeBron. He deserves it way more.
